The tour includes a Tibet travel permit and assistance with booking your flight or Tibet train to Lhasa.

During the tour, you’ll visit some of the most iconic attractions in Lhasa, including the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrival in Lhasa(3650M)

Upon your arrival in Lhasa, our guide will greet you and escort you to the hotel. During your journey to Lhasa, you’ll get to witness the breathtaking views of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, also known as the Brahmaputra River, which is the longest and largest river in Tibet, and the Lhasa River.
After reaching Lhasa, it’s essential to take rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. If you feel like exploring, head to Potala Square, where you can witness a beautiful fountain with stunning colors and capture some amazing photos of Potala and its surroundings.

Insider Tips:
To get acclimatized to the high altitude in Tibet, we recommend taking a good rest in your hotel on the first day and avoiding rushing to visit attractions inside Lhasa city.

Day 2:
Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

Today’s tour will start with a visit to the iconic Potala Palace, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. This magnificent palace has been in use since the 7th century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The palace’s most valuable collections are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and the meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.

After lunch, we’ll head to the Jokhang Temple, which was built in the 7th century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. Inside the temple, you can view the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can witness pilgrims making prostrations in front of the temple. The surrounding area of the temple is the famous Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals and explore the old market.

During the tour, you can also taste Tibetan tea with locals in a tea house, and a welcome dinner will be arranged accordingly.

Optional:
With time permitting, you may go with the tour guide to visit Tibetan handicraft art or the Tibetan Traditional Medicine center. You can also upgrade your service to enjoy a Tibetan Culture Show in the evening (from 60 USD).

Day 3:
Lhasa Tour - Dadong Village and Sera Monastery

In the morning, we’ll visit Dadong Village, the most beautiful village in Lhasa, located 25 kilometers southwest of Lhasa downtown. Dadong Village is a well-protected ancient Tibetan village surrounded by valleys. Upon arrival, we’ll visit the Nyimatang Monastery (built-in 11th century), take a light walk in the village, and see what rural life in Lhasa is like. You’ll also visit a local Tibetan family and enjoy lunch offered by the family.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Sera Monastery, one of the ‘great three’ Gelug monasteries of Tibet. The highlight of the visit is the monks’ debate, which takes place around 3-5 pm. Inside the monastery, you can view three sand Mandalas and the colorful Rock Painting of Buddha. You can also tour the Tibetan religious scripture printing house.

Day 4:
Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyantse (3900M)

Embark on a scenic journey from Lhasa to Shigatse, taking in breathtaking views along the way. As you drive over the Gampala Pass, which stands at an impressive 4790 meters, feast your eyes on the spectacular Yamdrok-Tso Lake (4400m) surrounded by snow-capped mountains. In the distance, the highest mountain near Lhasa, Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), creates a stunning backdrop.

On the way to Shigatse, you will also pass by the Korola Glacier and Manak Dam Lake. Make a stop at the Simila Mountain Pass, where you can hang prayer flags and take in the stunning panoramic views. Gyantse, Tibet’s third-largest city, awaits you next. Here, you will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum and enjoy the far-reaching view of Gyangtse Fortress.

After a 1.5-hour drive, arrive at Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city. Here, visit a traditional Barley Mill and enjoy the picturesque landscape of the Barley Field (in summer). Stay overnight in Shigatse.

Day 5:
Shigatse to EBC(5200M) via Tingri

Explore the home of Panchan Lama, Tashilunpo Monastery, before departing Shigatse. After obtaining your Alien’s travel permit, drive to Lhatse, a small town where you can have lunch. Then, pass through the stunning Tsola Pass (4600M) and Gyatsola Pass (5248M). Take in the panoramic views of the Himalayas at Gawula Pass (5198m) before driving along the new zigzag road to Everest Base Camp (5200m).

Once at EBC, you can get up close and personal with Mt. Everest, the world’s highest mountain. If time and weather permit, catch the sunset of the golden Everest peak at the lodging area. Stay overnight at Rongbuk Monastery guesthouse.

Day 6:
EBC to Kyirong Border

Appreciate the sunrise over Mt. Everest, weather permitting, before visiting Rongbuk Monastery – the highest monastery in the world with nuns and monks living together. Take some time to snap pictures of the world’s highest peak at Everest Base Camp before embarking on a scenic drive from EBC to Kyirong border.

As you drive, enjoy breathtaking vistas of Mt. Shishapangma and the Pekutso Lake. After passing through Ghungtang Lhamo (5236M), arrive in Kyirong in the late afternoon. Stay overnight in the guesthouse in Kyirong.

Day 7:
Gyirong Border to Kathmandu

Our Tibetan guide will assist you in exiting China via Gyirong border, marking the end of your tour service. However, to ensure hassle-free travel to Kathmandu, we offer easy transfer service. Our staff in Kathmandu only uses quality and roomy jeeps for the transfer, ensuring your comfort. Each jeep can accommodate up to five passengers. Please note that this tourist-friendly service.
