Honey Haunting Tour in Nepal takes you to the Himalayan foothill Of Central Nepal where this Haunt is made twice a year. The difficult cliffs in the foothills of the central Himalayas zone offer homage to the world’s largest honey bee colony Apis Laboriosa and Apis dorsata. These two species are indigenous species here in Nepal. These honeybees reside there from generation to generation and so do the haunters whose haunting rituals differ from community to community. The honey haunting tour introduces you to these community people who practice the rituals and you can observe these interesting rituals. These days International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu runs a program called Himalayan Honey bees project actively working for the sustainable management of the honey haunting to ensure that the species can easily survive.
