Kaligandaki River Rafting is a premier wilderness adventure in the western region of Nepal. Named after the fierce goddess Kali, the Kali Gandaki River begins in the Tibetan plateau in Mustang and flows through the Himalayas, cutting through the deepest gorge on earth between the towering peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. This 72-kilometer journey offers a thrilling combination of rapids, ranging from +3 to +4, and stunning natural beauty, as well as a glimpse into unique cultures and secluded beaches. The trip begins at the take-off point in Beni and ends at the take-out point in Mirmire, and is suitable for intermediate to advanced rafters and kayakers.

Kaligandaki River Rafting was first opened to commercial use in 1991. This majestic river offers a thrilling combination of rapids and stunning natural beauty, as well as a glimpse into unique cultures and secluded beaches. Rafters will experience the thrill of navigating remote areas and the serenity of peaceful surroundings.
Kaligandaki River Rafting begins at the take-off point in Beni. The rapids on this river range from a relaxing +3 to the more challenging +4 rapids, such as “small brother,” “big brother,” and “refund.” The 72-kilometer journey takes rafters through steep-walled canyons, past cascading waterfalls, and through picturesque villages and deserted beaches. The trip ends at the take-out point in Mirmire. Not only is the Kali Gandaki River one of the most sacred in Nepal, it also offers stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range. It is also a popular spot for intermediate to advanced kayakers.
When you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative from Himalayan 360 will be there to meet you and take you to your hotel. After checking in, you can rest or, with the guide, visit Himalayan 360’s office in Thamel a part of Kathmandu in the tourist district. Here there are many shops and restaurants. The shops are colourful and full of pashminas, slippers, trekking equipment, and felt items. The restaurants serve European as well as Nepalese meals. ATMs are plentiful should you require them. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan 360 where you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine. This is a great introduction to Nepalese food.
Early in the morning at around 7/8 am, we drive for around 3-4 hrs to reach the put-in point near Beni. We observe spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks and sacred Machhapuchhre. Today we begin our rafting with some class III rapids this is a warm-up for the team, soon after that, you will encounter 2 big class 4 rapids named ‘Small Brother’ and ‘Big Brother. After encountering these two big rapids we reach the Modi Khola confluence where we will choose the beach for the evening campsite.
Today we start down our rafting where we encounter many class 3 rapids and the most challenging class 4 named ‘REFUND’. This trip offers some adrenaline calm and spectacular scenery including views of Annapurna 1 and Himchuli. The river passes through the vines, wildlife, and lush vegetation hanging from the cliff faces. We make our campsite below the village of Purti Ghat.
As soon as we start our rafting we reach the holy village of Seti Beni. This part of the river is strewn with a large house-size boulder at the confluence with a smaller tributary. After continuous 2 hours of floating we reach the take-out point at mir mire.Our bus will be waiting for us. We load up the gear and prepare for the bus journey back to Pokhara or Kathmandu.
Today is the last day of our Trip, it is the time to say goodbye and return to the real world. If you have some time left, you can do some souvenir shopping or sightseeing around the hotel. A representative from Himalayan 360 will collect you from the hotel and take you to the airport 3 hours before your departure.
