Overview
Pikey Peak Trek is not just a trekking trip but also an adventurous peak climbing up to the tallest hills of Solukhumbu Pikey Danda. This Pikey hill is most popular for its sunrise and sunset views and one can take pleasure in the magnificent sight of the peaks beyond the Kathmandu Valley to the plains along with the Himalayan range of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjungha, Annapurna, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Number, Khatang, Karyalung, Shishapangma, Mera Peak and Thamserku The name Pikey is derived from the two titles of the Sherpas. In July, the great celebration takes place here as the locals worship their tribe god, the eastern Chyabo Pikey, as Pikey Hlapchen Karbu in the celebrations.
Pikey Peak Trekking (4,065 m) route is almost a 12-13 days trek. After the arrival in Kathmandu and some of the sightseeing here in Kathmandu, we fly straight to Phaplu 35 min. Pikey peak trekking trail passes through the places like Jiri-Chaulakharka-Nagaur- to reach the Pikey Danda (Hill) area. Another trail leads from Pikey Danda to Phaplu through Panch Pokhari and Tamakhani which is located northeast of the district centre Salleri. On the way to the trek up to pikey peak, you will pass through century-old monasteries, mani walls, and stone and Buddhist stupa at Kerung, yak herding can be seen at different places accompanied by unique landscapes and sceneries high altitude vegetation of Himalaya floras and faunas. While returning back your trail will take you to the famous Thuptenchholing Monastery where you can observe traditional Tibetan medicinal therapy and villages with Delightful Sherpa people with whom you can enjoy your ending part of the trek.
Pike Peak Base Camp Trekking is one of the popular trekking trails in the Everest region, probably one of the lower places to see Mt. Everest (8848 m).
