14 Days Wildlife and Birdwatching Photography Tour

The first day of the 14 Days Wildlife and Birdwatching Photography Tour begins with the arrival at TIA in Nepal. Our personnel will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel via private vehicle. Overnight stay at hotel.

The second day of the birdwatching tour begins with breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast, you will go to the domestic airport for your flight to Nepalgunj. When you arrive in Nepalgunj, one of our representatives will pick you up and drive you to the hotel in Bardia National Park. You will receive welcome drinks upon check-in. Take some time to rest and relax in the garden and around the resort. In the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk. For dinner, you will stay at the same hotel.

On the third day of the Wildlife and Birdwatching Photography Tour, we will enjoy a jeep safari inside of Bardiya National Park. After breakfast, you will engage in 5 hours of amazing jeep ride in the Bardiya National Park, where today we will primarily focus on Tiger tracking activity. Tigers roam throughout the park, and we can find many signs of their presence. However, spending time in spots where tigers are frequently seen can improve our chances of an encounter. This part of the journey will be exciting because we will walk through three different tiger territories. The team has identified and planned for these well-known tiger tracking locations in Bardia National Park, and they can all be explored on foot. In these jeep tours, you will have a packed lunch for midday snacks, which you will enjoy after the first few hours of the tour. After a day of roaming with tigers, we will return to our resort for an overnight stay.

On the fourth day of the tour, we will begin our Bardiya National Park with a few more hours of tiger tracking if you cannot locate the tiger. Otherwise, you will explore jungles to glimpse other animals like one-horned rhinoceros, black buck, swamped deer, and wild elephants, gharial crocodiles, cranes, and Gangetic dolphins. After another six hours of Jeep safari, we will return to the resort for an overnight stay.

The fifth day of the tour is quite a special one as today we will be engaged in special activities like bird watching. First of all, the day begins with breakfast in the hotel, after which the jeep takes us to the community forest to watch wildlife. After lunch, we will walk in the open areas to watch different types of birds and get to know their day-to-day or seasonal activities. Some of the birds among many species that you will get to see are Lesser Whistling-Duck, Bar-headed Goose, Graylag Goose, Knob-billed Duck, Ruddy Shelduck, Common Shelduck, and Cotton Pygmy-Goose. After exploring the jungle for a bit in the evening, we will return back to the hotel.

On the sixth day of our tour, we will have breakfast and then board our jeep to leave Nepalgunj for Lumbini. The drive is around six to seven hours, during which we will explore the wetlands and swamps around Lumbini for bird-watching activities. Some of the birds commonly found in the wetlands are the Common Coot, Gadwall Duck, Eurasian Marsh Harrier, Mallard Duck, Black-headed Ibis, Indian Grey Hornbill, and Lesser Adjutant, among others. After a few hours of bird watching, we will check into a three-star hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

The seventh day of our tour also revolves around touring Lumbini, but today, we will pass wetlands to reach grassland. We will see a variety of animals and different species of birds. The drive from our hotel to the grasslands takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, after which we will explore the beautiful region on foot. We will also reach beautiful Jagdishpur Taal, where we will see different aquatic animals and notice the activities of birds around water resources, such as The Booted Eagle, Eurasian Wigeon, Grey Francolin, Purple Heron, the Sarus Crane in their breeding pairs, and Purple Swamp Head, In the evening, we will return back to our hotel for an overnight stay.

The eighth day of the Wildlife and Birdwatching Photography Tour takes you to the Chitwan National Park. The day begins with breakfast in the Lumbini Hotel, after which we board the jeep and drive for six hours. After reaching Chitwan, we first reach Vulture restaurant. Vulture restaurants are established for vultures, not humans, but tourists can visit them to see the day-to-day activities of vultures, what they eat, and how they eat. After spending a few hours, we will enter the Chitwan National Park. In the evening we will stay at the three-star hotel where you will stay overnight.

The ninth day of the Birdwatching Photography Tour takes you to the Chitwan National Park. We will engage in the jeep safari to see some rare and endangered animal species like the Royal Bengal Tiger. The first day of the Chitwan National Park also consists of Tiger Tracking, where we explore spots common for tiger habitat.  After six hours of amazing experience, we will sit to enjoy the packed lunch before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.

On the tenth day of the Birdwatching Photography tour, we will continue to explore Chitwan National Park. The major attraction of today’s tour is to walk around the national park and explore endangered animals like red pandas and snow leopards. and a variety of beautiful birds. The birding is extremely popular for tourists who are able to see, some common and rare species like Lesser Whistling Duck, Barred Cuckoo-Dove, Asian Emerald Dove, Orange-breasted green pigeon, Sunbird, etc. In the evening, we will return for the overnight stay at the hotel.

The new day begins, and we will drive towards Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve today. The drive from Chitwan to Koshitappu takes about 8 hours. Along the way, we will reach a few destinations where we will stop to take pictures and soak in the beauty of nature. We will stop for a bit on Koshi Bridge to click on some amazing pictures of dolphins. After a few hours of drive, we will reach the Koshitappu Nature Reserve. In the evening, we will stay in the teahouse.

The twelfth day of the Birdwatching Photography tour takes you back to the Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve, where today, we will watch different types of rare and beautiful birds. Koshi Tappu is known for its many bird species. About 441 bird species have been recorded here, including 14 that are found only in Nepal. This includes 20 types of ducks, 2 types of ibis, the white-tailed stonechat, the striated marsh warbler, 30 shorebirds, and 114 water birds. The area is also home to the endangered swamp partridge and the Bengal florican. We will click several amazing photos of the birds and the wildlife, like Blue Bull, Rock Python, Hog Deer, and Wild boar, which are the common attractions around the reserve. We will return to the resort in the evening for an overnight stay near the wildlife reserve.

The thirteenth day of the Birdwatching Photography Tour begins with breakfast in the Koshitappy Reserve, where we will continue our bird-watching activities. In the morning, birds such as waterfowl, storks, ibises, waders, etc are mostly active for hunting. After lunch, we will board the flight and fly back to Kathmandu. Our personnel will once again take you back to your hotel, where you will stay overnight.

Today is the final day of the Wildlife and Birdwatching Tour. You will have a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then head to the airport, concluding our amazing bird-watching photography tour. We hope you enjoyed your tour and that you will be back to enjoy some other amazing tours or treks.
