The 6-day Bhutan Tour is an easy-to-moderate tour with an itinerary mostly focusing on gentle walking and visits to cultural sites rather than adventurous activities. The trek begins with a tour and ends with a tour with less physical exertion, making it one of the easiest trips in Bhutan. The journey involves visiting monasteries and dzongs and enjoying the geography, which is generally not physically demanding. Therefore, the Bhutan Tour is accessible to most people with a general fitness level.

However, the challenges related to altitude sickness are among the primary difficulties of the Bhutan tour. The risk of altitude sickness is a concern in the higher locations of Dochula Pass (3,100m) and Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120m). Yet, travelers can get to Dochula Pass by vehicle, and hiking to Tiger’s Nest is also possible by horse ride. So, with proper precautions and choosing appropriate activities that fit your fitness level, you can complete the trip easily, with no difficulties.

Fall or Autumn season (September to November)

If you make the visit during the right time, you can also take part in some major festivals in Bhutan, such as Thimphu Tsechu. However, due to being the peak and popular season, you will witness slightly higher crowds than in spring.

Winter (December to February)

If you wish to avoid crowds, winter can be perfect for you. However, you will experience freezing temperatures. If you are not into the winter season, we generally do not recommend it.
