Nepal trekking tours with Himalayan 360 cover 37 guided treks of 5 to 23 days in eight regions of the Nepal Himalayas, from the Everest Base Camp Trek to the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek. Every trek shows its days and highest point, 30 of them show the price per person for two trekkers, and that price drops as your group grows: USD 1,455 each for two on the Everest Base Camp Trek, USD 1,260 each for a group of 21 to 30.

Nepal Trekking Tours by Region

Our 37 trekking and hiking tours sit in eight regions, and the region decides the altitude, the way in and the price. The Everest region tops out at 5,545 m on Kala Patthar, the Annapurna treks run from 3,210 m at Poon Hill to 5,416 m at Thorong La, and the table gives each region's price range for two trekkers. Most treks start and end in Kathmandu, a short drive from Tribhuvan International Airport; the 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek and the Annapurna North Base Camp Trek start in Pokhara.

Nepal trekking tours in numbers: 37 guided treks, 5 to 23 days, highest point 5,545 m, lowest price for two USD 380 each, 30 treks priced by group size

Our Nepal trekking tours in five numbers, counted from the 37 trip pages.

Region Treks Days Highest point 2 people, USD each
Everest 8 7 to 18 5,545 m, Kala Patthar 1,385 to 2,315
Annapurna 14 5 to 18 5,416 m, Thorong La 380 to 3,200
Manaslu 5 12 to 20 5,106 m, Larkya La 925 to 1,540
Langtang 4 5 to 13 4,984 m, Tserko Ri 440 to 830

Makalu 1 17 4,870 m 1,770
Mustang 1 16 4,280 m 2,099
Kathmandu Valley 1 5 2,175 m on request

Compare treks on the price for two. The "from" figure on each trip card is the rate for the largest group, so a couple on the Everest Base Camp Trek pays USD 1,455 each, not USD 1,260; for the seven treks marked "on request", ask us for your group's price. If you are still choosing between trekking routes, Best Treks in Nepal ranks 15 of them with our reasons, Short Treks in Nepal covers the 5 to 8 day treks and Easy Treks in Nepal the beginner treks.

Everest Region Treks from Kathmandu

The Everest region has 8 of our treks, from the 7-day Dudh Kunda Phaplu Trek to the 18-day Everest Three High Pass Trek, and five of them top out at 5,545 m below Mount Everest. Everest trekking mostly starts with the flight from Kathmandu or Manthali to Lukla, and the Everest Region page lists these treks beside our helicopter tours and peak climbs.

Trek Days Highest point 2 people, USD each Largest group, USD each
Everest Base Camp Trek 14 5,545 m 1,455 1,260
Everest Base Camp Trek With Helicopter Return 11 5,545 m 2,315 2,150

Everest Base Camp is Nepal's most popular trekking destination, through Namche Bazaar and Tengboche. The helicopter return saves 3 days, and the passes treks add 2 to 4 days to cross between the Khumbu valleys.

Annapurna Region Treks

The Annapurna region holds 14 of our treks, more than any other region, and the lowest price for two on this page: the 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek starts and ends in Pokhara and costs USD 380 each for two. It also has two 18-day routes, the Nar Phu Valley Trek and the Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek, and three yoga treks led by a guide who is also a yoga teacher; all 14 are on our Annapurna Region page.

Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek 18 5,360 m 3,200 3,060

If your time in Nepal is short, Poon Hill gives sunrise mountain views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in 5 days, through rhododendron forest. Annapurna Base Camp trekking takes 9 days, climbing through Chomrong into the Annapurna Sanctuary, and the circuit crosses Thorong La in 10.

Manaslu Region Treks

Our 5 Manaslu treks run 12 to 20 days, and every one needs a restricted area permit, which only a registered agency can file with a licensed guide named on it. Three cross Larkya La at 5,106 m in 12, 13 or 14 days, the other two add the Tsum Valley, and the Manaslu Region page covers the permits and the history of the area.

Trek Days Highest point 2 people, USD each Largest group, USD each

The 12 and 13 day versions travel by local bus and shared jeep, and the 14-day version adds a day to acclimatise before the pass.

Manaslu Circuit Trek altitude by day: from Jagat at 1,410 m on day 4 to Larkya La at 5,106 m on day 12, with a rest day at Samagaon, 3,530 m

The 14-day Manaslu Circuit Trek climbs from 1,410 m to Larkya La (5,106 m) over nine walking days, with a rest day at Samagaon.

Langtang, Mustang, Kanchenjunga and Makalu Treks

Ten treks sit outside the three big regions: 4 in Langtang, 3 in Kanchenjunga, 1 each in Upper Mustang and Makalu, and the Chisapani Nagarkot Hike in the Kathmandu Valley. They run from the 5-day Gosaikunda Short Trek to the 23-day Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek, the longest trek we run.

Trek Days Highest point 2 people, USD each Largest group, USD each
Gosaikunda Short Trek 5 4,380 m on request 200

Makalu base camp trek 17 4,870 m 1,770 1,299
Chisapani Nagarkot Hike 5 2,175 m on request on request

Check Langtang before you book. The 26 August 2026 flood destroyed the road to Syabrubesi, where the Langtang treks start; the trekking trail and villages above it are intact, but the Tamang Heritage Trek is closed and the alternative TAAN lists for the others is a longer walk in from Sundarijal (9 September 2026). The Manaslu treks are open with a changed drive to the trailhead, and the status of each route is in Is Nepal Safe to Trek After the 2026 Flood? Route-by-Route Status.

Upper Mustang and both Kanchenjunga base camp treks need restricted area permits, as does the circuit, and Upper Mustang stays dry through the June to August monsoon. Each region has its own page: Langtang Region Trekking & Tours, Mustang Region Trekking & Tours, Kanchenjunga Region Trekking & Tours and Makalu Region Trekking & Tours. For cultural heritage without the trekking (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Patan and Bhaktapur), or Chitwan National Park and Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, see Nepal Tour Packages.

How Hard Is Trekking in Nepal?

Trekking in Nepal runs from easy 5-day hikes below 3,300 m to 23-day routes graded very difficult, and the grade on each trip page tells you where a trek sits. Hiking in Nepal takes fitness, not climbing skill: our Everest Base Camp Trek page puts the walking at 5 to 6 hours a day and asks for no technical experience.

Grade on our trip pages Examples Days Highest point
Easy Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, Poon Hill Ghandruk Yoga Trek 5 to 6 3,210 m
Medium or moderate Annapurna Base Camp Trek, 7 Days Mardi Himal Trek, Langtang Valley Trek, 15 days Tsum Valley Trek 7 to 15 4,130 to 4,984 m
Challenging Annapurna Circuit Trek, Nar Phu Valley Trek, Makalu base camp trek, Kanchenjunga South Base Camp Trek 10 to 18 4,740 to 5,416 m
Strenuous or hard Everest Base Camp Trek, Gokyo Lake Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Upper Mustang Trek, Everest Three High Pass Trek 13 to 18 4,280 to 5,545 m
Very difficult Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek, Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek 15 to 23 5,140 m

Altitude, not distance, is what makes a trek hard. Above 3,000 m the rule is to raise your sleeping altitude by 300 to 500 m a day and take a rest day every two or three days, which is why the Everest Base Camp Trek stops for a day at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) and Dingboche (4,410 m) and the Manaslu Circuit Trek rests at Samagaon (3,530 m). Our guide Climb High, Sleep Low: Altitude and Acclimatisation on a Nepal Trek shows where those days sit on each route.

Best Time for Trekking in Nepal: March to May and September to November

The best trekking months in Nepal are March to May and September to November, when the weather is most stable and the views are clearest. Winter (December to February) and the monsoon (June to August) are the off seasons, and if you visit Nepal between June and August, pick Upper Mustang: it sits in the rain shadow and stays dry.

Months Season What our trip pages say Best fit
March to May Spring Stable weather, clear views, rhododendron in bloom on the Poon Hill trail Every region; book Everest and Annapurna early, both are busy
June to August Monsoon Off season, heavy rain across most of Nepal Upper Mustang Trek
September to November Autumn Stable weather after the monsoon, the clearest views Every region; book Everest and Annapurna early, both are busy
December to February Winter Off season, snow at higher altitude Everest treks and the Upper Mustang Trek, which list December and February

Trekking Companies in Nepal: What to Check Before You Book

Check three things before you book any trekking company in Nepal: that it is registered in Nepal, that a licensed guide leads your trek, and that the price you are quoted is the price for your group size. You can check all three for us before you pay anything.

  • Registration. Himalayan 360 has run treks from Kathmandu since 2014. Our company registration, PAN registration and trekking agency licence from the Valley Tourism Office are on our Legal Documents page, next to our membership certificates for the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), NATTA and PATA.
  • Guides. Our trekking guides are licensed Nepali guides from the regions they guide in, and acclimatisation days are built into every itinerary, not sold as an upgrade. Our Responsible Tourism policy commits us to local guides, porters and locally owned lodges.
  • Price. 30 of these 37 trip pages print the price for every group size we run, so you can see the rate for two, four or twelve people before you enquire.

Trekking in Nepal FAQs

Do Nepal trekking tours include permits?

Yes. Every trekking tour on this page includes its permits in the price: Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality fees in the Everest region, ACAP and TIMS on the Annapurna treks, and the restricted area permits for Manaslu, Tsum Valley, Nar Phu, Upper Mustang and Kanchenjunga. Restricted area permits are only issued through a registered agency, so we file them for you.

Is a guide required for trekking in Nepal?

Yes. Since April 2023, Nepal Tourism Board rules require trekkers to hire a licensed guide through a registered trekking agency. Every trek on this page includes a government-licensed guide. A porter is extra on most treks, at one porter for two trekkers.

Can I book a private trek?

Yes. Send your dates through our Private Booking page and we run the trek as a private tour for your group alone, on the trip page route or one we adjust with you. The per-person price for your group size is on each trip page.

Can beginners trek in Nepal?

Yes. For first-time visitors, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is 5 days, tops out at 3,210 m, is graded easy and costs USD 610 each for two. The 7 Days Mardi Himal Trek is the next step up. Save the high passes treks for your second visit to Nepal.

Which is the best trekking company in Nepal?

The one you can check. Look for registration with the Government of Nepal, TAAN membership, government-licensed guides and a published price for your group size. Our registration and membership certificates are on our Legal Documents page, and our group prices are on each trip page.

Is trekking in Nepal safe?

Yes, with a licensed guide, acclimatisation days and the right insurance, and our treks include the first two and require the third. After the 26 August 2026 flood, TAAN listed the Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga and Makalu regions as unaffected (9 September 2026). The Langtang treks need a longer walk in because the road to Syabrubesi is gone.

Do I need a visa to trek in Nepal?

Yes. Most nationalities get a tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu: USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days and USD 125 for 90 days, all multiple entry. The visa is not part of a trek price.

What should I pack for a trek in Nepal?

Layers for cold nights and a pack you can carry for 5 to 6 hours: a waterproof jacket and trousers, a fleece or down jacket, thermal base layers, broken-in trekking boots, a sleeping bag rated to at least minus 10 degrees Celsius, a 25 to 35 litre daypack, trekking poles, a headlamp, water purification and SPF 30+ sunscreen. Carry Nepali rupees in cash: on the Everest route the ATMs at Lukla and Namche are unreliable.

Do I need travel insurance for trekking in Nepal?

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation is compulsory on our treks and is not included in the price. The policy should name trekking above 2,500 m, evacuation and medical treatment inside Nepal, and cover the highest point of your trek: 5,545 m on the Everest Base Camp Trek.
